No, just feels that way.
Actually, life has been throwing me some pretty demanding curves of late and while trying to stay ahead of the game, I’ve been slipping on a few banana peels and my hands have dropped the ball on a few things. I have all the great intentions in the world to build my blogs, my sites, my biz and then along comes a spider, that sits down beside ‘er.
So, really, what’s the game plan here? Well, I decided that working via WordPress.com, which is a great way to get a free blog if you aren’t into tweaking the way I am, is cramping my style just a bit. I have to have creative freedom to do what I want to do when I want to do it! Can’t have it all ways here so I’ve decided to pull out my trusty Credit card and bite the bullet and just get myself some space.
I’ll be moving over to a great service provider within the next month or so, Sibername.com, a Company in my favorite little neck of the woods and from there I’ll be setting up two blogs, this one which will remain the ‘All Creative’ blog and another which will be dedicated more or less to my Art and Airbrush passions. That way, I can divvy them up without one overshadowing or over-crowding the other and I figure it will keep me a bit more organized all around (I hope).
I’ll also be setting up (finally) my website specifically for the sale of my art and airbrush work, again, so I’ll be concentrating on what I should be concentrating on when I’m concentrating on it! Whew.
…what else have I been up to amongst the chaos?
I finally got my Airbrush studio moved into my garage…that took a bit of muscle. Stayed there for all of 3 days. It’s been exceptionally muggy here lately, lots of rain on and off and when it isn’t raining it’s hot and sticky. Neither are conducive to good airbrushing. My moisture trap on my compressor has been working overtime and when I tried to add a 2nd onto the line, it kept blowing. Contacted Iwata-Medea, an incredible Company btw, and no questions asked, they were forwarding me a new secondary trap. Haven’t gotten it yet though, thanks to Border Customs I’m sure, but in the interim decided it was better just to move back into the house where it’s climate controlled. With that just done yesterday, I’m fully expecting to see the new moisture trap arriving tomorrow!
I’ve been working on a rare white lion portrait, so far everyone thinks it looks quite good but only I know exactly how many gobs of water have spattered onto it making for very unhappy events. My husband has dubbed the lion as being ill…with an eye infection…and yes, I guess, that’s what it looks like if you really think about it. It’s all good though, I’m learning to ‘repair’ mistakes that way.
But then there’s the other side of life, the not so nice side
We’ve had more than a little illness going on in our fair domicile of late. Not simply the common cold or the flu bug either unfortunately, but actually pretty worrisome situations. My oldest son is thought to have contracted West Nile although we aren’t certain that is actually the case. My oldest daughter has been dealing with kidney stones (she’s only 22 poor kid!) and then we have my youngest son who has been ill for almost 3 weeks now with stomach problems that are mimicking appendicitis but that might possibly be Chrons disease…he’s only 19!
So what gives here. My children, falling apart before I do? Just doesn’t seem fair.
Then we had a death last evening…my youngest daughter’s guinea pig passed away after being ill with a URI (Upper Respiratory Infection). Unfortunately we found out the hard way that Pine shavings and Guinea’s aren’t the most compatible sometimes, at least not in this situation. My daughter was of course devastated and swears she will never own another animal as long as she lives! I don’t know if that will actually be the case but for now she’s not looking to replace her little ‘fur ball’ in the near future.
…but on a good note, and there is one!
We will actually be taking a vacation this summer. That’s right, miracles do exist Charlie Brown. My husband owns his own business and for the last 3 years vacations and husband have not been synonamous with one another. This year, they may still not be but we’re getting closer to finding out whether I’ll be vacationing with my family minus my husband or not. We aren’t doing much, just ‘cottaging’ but we’ve invited some other family to join us so if worse does come to worse, I won’t have to sit around twiddling my thumbs all by myself at least.
Well, that’s what’s new here. I’ll try updating a few more things over the next day or two and once my domain is ready and I’ve been able to prepare the space, I’ll try to make the move as painless as possible (although I’m possibly the only one who’ll know or care)
