An Artful Mind is a mix of all things that drive me – well almost. You won’t find my children here, or our newest adopted pets – which happen to be a gorgeous long haired kitten and a colorful Sun Conure (Bird) – we basically have a food chain now don’t we? However, what you will find is a little bit of everything else that holds my interest and keeps me entertained.
I’m a freelance writer, an artist (I’m told) and I work in graphite, acrylic, color pencil and when the mood strikes, airbrush. I also do jewelry design which includes wire wrapping, weaving and chain maille – and will normally try just about anything that can be paired with the word “creative”.
I also do web development work on occasion, usually I’ll work with Joomla and WordPress and I’m very selective with the projects I take on. I normally do so when a small start-up comes along that I feel could use the help and in turn appreciates it. When I’m not doing these things, I’m usually working on three different novels – two murder mysteries and a mystery suspense – the first two are a series while the third is currently under a research flag – I’ve recently begun to investigate the Mayan civilization so there’s a little piece of “what it’s about” as far as the mystery suspense novel goes. I’m not big on putting all my eggs in one basket and as you’ll discover, I tend to add different things that are all related in a way – usually creatively – so the mix might be wide spread at times.
My educational background has been almost as varied as my life experiences including Business and Development, Masters in Fine Arts, Children’s Literature Writing, Web Development with some computer programming and Interior Design thrown in. I firmly believe that were there is an interest there is a learning experience and you should never be afraid to explore either areas.
I am not a “one track mind” kind of person and figure my blog shouldn’t be either. That may make for a bit of confusion when one arrives here for the first time and sees Jewelry and writer related posts mixed together, among other things, but I’m certain I’d get bored quickly where I to only have one thing to blog about.
There isn’t any rhyme or reason here – I’ll populate with things I find, things I do and of course, things that I think will interest other like minded individuals. I’m not looking for a vastly popular piece of the landscape – a small smattering will suffice.
So, visit as long or as often as you wish – and thanks for stopping by.

I look forward to it, if you yahoo I can be found under Spiritfoxy, if you find free moment here and there… what are those
I have Yahoo around somewhere, along with MSN, Google, etc., – but it’s been awhile so I’ll have to dig them out, dust them off and hope I remember my logins
I’ll see what I can do though – and yes, – free moments, I know I use to have some of those too
My Sun Conure’s name was Kai, he is no longer with me as well as my Moluccan Cockatoo… they contracted a fatal disease a while back and had to be put down. But I still have my Persian cat, Jade! I dream in technicolor too, where most of my designs for my jewelry come from as well as my 3D crreations *smile* Hey Akaiya, you have a link to DAZ!! *grin* You would know me as Spiritfoxy there, lol. We must talk more!!!
Sun Conure’s are beautiful fellows as are Cockatoos – so sorry to hear of your losses – we recently lost our Apricot Canary but he had lived a long and I like to believe, happy life.
It would appear that we have a bit of background in common – including the fact that I too have a heritage I’m very proud of as well – my paternal Grandmother was Native American, First Nations – small world as they say.
I don’t get over to DAZ nearly as often as I’d like to – I will have to look you up over there – and indeed, I’d love to talk more
