During my childhood my imagination fueled many of my days and kept boredom at bay. As I grew older, although my imaginative ways changed from the childish visions to more developed ideals, I still used my creative mind to stave off boredom.
Writing has a way of seeping deeply within you. It wraps itself around your heart and entwines it’s visions and drive tightly within your soul. It can sometimes consume, other times confound yet always, as a writer, there is the opportunity to create a world within a world, like no other that yet exists.
As I currently work on three (yes, 3) novels I find it an invigorating challenge to keep all three on separate plains. Although two of the novels are meant to be read as a pre and sequel to one another, the third is a totally random effort that for whatever reason, I took on just because.
Don’t Tell Them You’ve Seen Me and Promise You’ll Forget Me are two novels that I’ve had in mind to write for several years now and so far, they have been naturally falling into place almost as though they have been waiting for just that opportunity to do so.
The third novel which is a much smaller work, only between 10-15,000 words, is something I decided I wanted to do just to see where it would lead to. For the longest time I’ve pondered what it would be like to write something – anything, which Harlequin might be interested in publishing. As a teen I devoured Harlequin Romance books and then when I located some excellent authors under the Luna and Mira labels I knew that at some point I would make the move to do at least one book that would fall somewhere under the Harlequin banner.
It wasn’t until just the other day when I decided to pay their site a visit again, that I came across the Harlequin banner that I knew I wanted to write a novel for.
